Sports Shorts

Product details

Our sports shorts are light, elastic-waist shorts with contrast side stripes, made for PE lessons, games, sports day and athletics training. The quick-drying fabric keeps children cool in hot weather, and the elastic waist with an inner drawstring gives a secure fit while running, jumping and playing. In navy blue, sizes 22 to 40, from KSh 400.

Why our sports shorts work for school sport

• Light, quick-dry fabric that does not cling when hot or wet.
• Elastic waist with drawstring for a secure, adjustable fit.
• Contrast white side stripes for a sporty, team look.
• Roomy cut that allows full movement.
• Strong stitching at the seams and waistband.

Sports shorts vs school shorts

Sports shorts are part of the PE or games kit, not the formal uniform. They are lighter and stretchier than our school shorts, which are made of suiting fabric with a button and zip. Most schools ask for both: school shorts or trousers for class, and sports shorts for games.

Build a complete PE kit

A typical Kenyan school PE kit is a T-shirt in the school or house colour, sports shorts, socks and sports shoes. We offer:

• Plain school T-shirt in navy, grey, red or white — KSh 250.
• Sports shorts in navy blue — from KSh 400.
• School socks — KSh 250 per pair.
• School tracksuit for cold mornings — from KSh 1,300.
• Sports balls for teams and PE departments.

Sports shorts for teams and clubs

Football academies, athletics clubs, schools and churches order sports shorts in bulk for teams, often with a printed number or logo. For large orders we can discuss other colours. WhatsApp us or read about bulk school uniforms.

Caring for sports shorts

• Rinse muddy sports shorts before washing.
• Wash in cool water with similar colours.
• Avoid bleach and fabric softener.
• Hang to dry; no ironing needed.

Why proper PE kit matters

Physical education is part of the curriculum at every level in Kenya, from pre-primary movement activities to competitive games in senior school. Children who have proper kit are more comfortable, move more freely and are less likely to be distracted or embarrassed during lessons. Wearing separate games kit also keeps the formal uniform clean for the rest of the day, which saves on washing and makes school clothes last longer.

Light, breathable shorts are especially important in hot regions and during the warm months, when children can overheat quickly while running. The elastic waist with a drawstring means the shorts stay in place during athletics, football, netball and other games, without the discomfort of a belt or button.

Shorts for athletics and ball games

For running, jumping and throwing, a light pair of shorts with a roomy cut allows a full range of movement. For football and other ball games, the shorts pair with socks and a T-shirt in the team colour. Many schools and academies also use the same shorts for training and for inter-house competitions, simply switching the T-shirt colour for each house.

Ordering for a class or team

If you are buying for a whole class or team, collect the size of each child, then add a few spares in the most common sizes. Send us the list on WhatsApp and we will prepare a quotation, including any printing you need. We pack by size so distribution on the day is quick and easy.

Remember to label games kit as well as the formal uniform. PE clothes are changed quickly in shared rooms, and identical navy shorts are easily mixed up between classmates.
