Uniform Size Guide (Sizes 22–42)
This uniform size guide helps you choose the right size for every item we sell, from school sweaters and shirts to trousers, dresses, tracksuits and fleece jackets. Our uniforms come in sizes 22 to 42, and the size number is close to the child's chest measurement in inches — so measuring is the most reliable way to get it right.
How to measure for our uniform size guide
You need a soft tape measure. If you do not have one, use a piece of string and a ruler. Measure over a thin T-shirt, with your child standing straight and relaxed.
- Chest: measure around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, keeping the tape level. Use this measurement for sweaters, shirts, dresses, T-shirts, tracksuits and fleece jackets.
- Waist: measure around the natural waist, just above the belly button. This helps with trousers and shorts.
- Length: for dresses and trousers, measure from the waist to just below the knee (dresses) or to the ankle (trousers).

Uniform size guide by age
Children grow at different rates, so treat this table as a starting point and confirm with a measurement.

Uniform size guide by item
School sweaters
Choose the size closest to the chest measurement. Sweaters should sit at the hip and the cuffs should reach the wrist. Sizes 22–42.
School shirts
Choose by chest. For long sleeve shirts, check that the cuffs reach the wrist; tall children may need the next size. Sizes 22–40.
School trousers and shorts
Trousers come in sizes 22–40 and school shorts in sizes 26–36. If your child is between sizes, choose the larger size and use a belt. Length can be adjusted with the deep hem.
School dresses
Choose by chest, then check the length: most schools want a dress that ends just below the knee. Sizes 22–40.
Tracksuits and fleece jackets
These are worn over other clothes, so go up one size if your child is between sizes. Sizes 22–42.
T-shirts and sports shorts
T-shirts come in sizes 22–42 and sports shorts in 22–40, worn loose for sport.
Socks and shoes
Socks come in kids, teens and adult sizes. For shoes, measure the foot length in centimetres and WhatsApp us your child's usual shoe size.
Tips for growing children
- Between sizes? Size up. A slightly big uniform lasts the whole year; a tight one may not last a term.
- Use the hem. Our trousers, shorts and dresses have deep hems that can be let down.
- Buy key items one size up for the new year, especially sweaters and blazers, which are worn over other layers.
- Measure every term for young children — they can grow a full size in six months.
Prices by size
Our prices depend on the size: smaller sizes cost less. Every product page lists the price for each size, and the price updates as soon as you choose a size. See, for example, our school sweaters and school shirts.
Common sizing mistakes to avoid
- Buying by age alone. Two eight-year-olds can be two sizes apart. Use this uniform size guide with a measurement, not age alone.
- Buying far too big. One size up is sensible; three sizes up looks untidy and wears unevenly.
- Measuring over a thick sweater. Measure over a thin T-shirt for an accurate reading.
- Forgetting layers. Fleece jackets and tracksuits go over other clothes, so allow extra room.
- Ignoring length. Tall children may need a bigger size for sleeve or dress length even if the chest fits.
Using this uniform size guide for siblings
If you are ordering for several children, measure each one separately and write the sizes down before you shop. Hand-me-downs often fit differently after washing, so check older items against this uniform size guide too before deciding what new pieces you need.
