How to Pay with M-Pesa
At Move Uniforms you pay with M-Pesa using M-Pesa Express, also called STK Push. You never need to type a Till or Paybill number: a payment request appears on your phone, you enter your PIN, and your order is confirmed in seconds. This page explains step by step how to pay with M-Pesa and what to do if something goes wrong.
How to pay with M-Pesa: step by step
- Add items to your cart. Choose the size and colour for each uniform item and click Add to cart.
- Go to checkout. Open your cart and click Checkout · Pay with M-Pesa.
- Enter your details. Fill in your name, delivery option and address, and the Safaricom number you want to pay with M-Pesa from.
- Click Pay with M-Pesa. Within a few seconds, an M-Pesa prompt appears on that phone showing the amount and "Move Uniforms" or our business name.
- Enter your M-Pesa PIN. Check the amount, then enter your PIN to approve.
- Confirmation. You receive an M-Pesa SMS, and the payment page on our website updates automatically to show your order is confirmed.
Why we use M-Pesa Express
- No typing errors. You cannot send money to the wrong Till or enter the wrong account number.
- Exact amount. The prompt shows the exact total, including delivery.
- Instant confirmation. Your order is matched to your payment automatically.
- Secure. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN; you approve the payment on your own phone.
If the M-Pesa prompt does not appear
- Make sure the phone is on, has network and is unlocked.
- Check that you entered the correct Safaricom number at checkout.
- Close any open SIM toolkit or USSD menu on the phone.
- Wait about 20 seconds, then click Resend M-Pesa prompt or Try again on the payment page.
- You can change the phone number on the payment page if you want to pay with M-Pesa from a different line.
Common messages when you pay with M-Pesa
- "You cancelled the request" — the prompt was dismissed. Click Try again.
- "The prompt timed out" — the PIN was not entered in time. Click Try again.
- "Insufficient balance" — top up M-Pesa or use Fuliza, then try again.
- "Wrong PIN" — try again carefully; too many wrong attempts can lock your M-Pesa.
Your order is saved even if the first attempt fails, so you can always try again without re-entering your cart.
Paying from someone else's phone
A relative or sponsor can pay with M-Pesa for your order. Enter their Safaricom number at checkout, or change the number on the payment page, and ask them to approve the prompt on their phone.
Bulk and school orders
For bulk school uniforms, schools can pay with M-Pesa or by bank transfer. We send a quotation and invoice first.
Receipts
Your M-Pesa SMS is your payment receipt. The payment confirmation page also shows your order number and M-Pesa receipt code; keep them to track your order or request an exchange.
Paying safely online
When you pay with M-Pesa on our website, the request always comes from Safaricom's official M-Pesa system and shows the amount for your order. Before entering your PIN, check that the amount matches your order total. Never share your M-Pesa PIN with anyone — not even someone claiming to be from Move Uniforms or Safaricom. We will never call or message you to ask for your PIN, and we will never ask you to send money to a personal number.

Using Fuliza and M-Pesa limits
If your M-Pesa balance is not enough, the prompt may offer to use Fuliza if you have it enabled; this is between you and Safaricom. Very large bulk orders may exceed daily M-Pesa limits; for those, we can split the payment or accept a bank transfer.
Paying for bulk orders
Schools and organisations can pay with M-Pesa to our business number or by bank transfer after receiving a quotation and invoice. A deposit confirms the order, and the balance is due on delivery.
